Intellectual property
Version 1.0Last updated: 16 August 2026
Electrolyte Nerd respects third-party intellectual property, and expects the same for the work we create. This page explains how brand names and trademarks appear on the site, what we own, what we don't, and how rights holders can reach us.
It applies to the extent permitted by applicable law, and is not a claim of compliance with the intellectual-property law of every country.
Our position in short
Electrolyte Nerd is an independent research and comparison platform. We are not a manufacturer, retailer, agent or official representative of any brand listed, and nothing on this site should be read as sponsorship, endorsement, partnership or certification unless we state that relationship explicitly.
We respect third-party trademarks and copyright, and we aim to use brand and product names only as far as is needed to identify a product accurately.
Third-party trademarks
Brand names, product names and flavour names may appear on this site solely to identify products and to enable legitimate comparison, search and research, subject to applicable law and to any relevant third-party terms.
All third-party trademarks, trade names and logos remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance here does not imply that the owner sponsors, endorses, is affiliated with, or has approved Electrolyte Nerd.
We do not use third-party logos without appropriate rights, we do not copy brand identity systems or typography, and we do not reproduce packaging where it is not necessary.
How we represent brands visually
Products and brands on this site are illustrated using our own brand-initial avatar system: original graphics generated by us from a brand's initials and an assigned colour pairing. They are our own artwork, created for identification within the interface.
They are not manufacturer logos, not derived from manufacturer artwork, and not intended to imitate any brand identity. We continue to use this proprietary system rather than brand logos or product photography unless a brand has granted permission or another lawful licence applies.
What we own
Electrolyte Nerd owns, or holds appropriate rights in, the material it creates, including:
- original written and educational content;
- the structure, selection and arrangement of our database;
- original graphics, including the brand-avatar system;
- the Electrolyte Nerd name, wordmark and visual identity;
- our user interface, search interface and comparison interface;
- our verification, comparison and ranking methodology and original analysis.
Except where applicable law permits (for example fair use or fair dealing, or ordinary quotation with attribution), please do not copy, scrape or redistribute substantial parts of this material without permission.
Database rights and factual information
We independently structure factual product information transcribed from manufacturer-published sources. We make no claim of ownership over the underlying facts themselves — a declared sodium figure on a label is not ours to own — nor over any manufacturer's trademarks or product names.
What we do claim is the work we add: how the database is organised and structured, how the information is presented, our search and comparison functionality, our verification process, and our original analysis and written content. Where applicable law recognises database or compilation rights, those apply to that layer only.
Third-party content
Content belonging to manufacturers, retailers and other third parties remains owned by those rights holders. Our practice is to transcribe declared factual values rather than to reproduce third-party material: we do not copy manufacturer marketing text wholesale, and we do not host third-party product photography without appropriate permission or licence.
We do not scrape retailer platforms, and we do not store or display programme content from affiliate platforms outside the methods those programmes permit.
Raising an intellectual-property concern
If you are a rights holder, or acting for one, and you have a concern about copyright, trademarks, brand representation, imagery, or an inaccurate suggestion of affiliation, please contact nerdlyte@yahoo.com with:
- the page URL and the specific material concerned;
- the right you believe is affected, and the basis for it;
- what you would like us to do;
- your name, organisation and a contact address.
We review these enquiries and respond as promptly as we reasonably can. This page does not set out a formal statutory notice-and-takedown procedure, and nothing here is a representation about how any specific legal process will be handled.
Corrections versus removal requests
Where a brand or manufacturer believes a figure we display is wrong, the fastest route is a data correction: send the product, the field and the current manufacturer source, and we will re-verify it and update the Last Verified date. See our contact page and methodology.
Accurate, declared factual information about a publicly sold product, and honest comparison of it, is a legitimate part of what this site does. We consider every request on its merits and correct genuine errors, but we do not remove accurate factual information simply because a comparison is unfavourable.
This page describes our practices for an early-stage product. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for review by a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.
